Wired Wednesday ~ ABCya!September 12, 2012
Looking for the next great website for your students? ABCya! has been around since 2004 and is a tremendous resource. This site was created by a former school teacher out of frustration of trying to find appropriate and relevant activities for students in their classroom.
As you can see, the front page of the website is bright, cheerful, and kid-friendly. Students simply need to click on their grade level to get to the appropriate games. From this point, the games are separated by topic. The grade level categories are broken down by content categories: Letters, Numbers, and More (shapes, social studies, art). There are even holiday themed activities. Be sure to look for Halloween or Thanksgiving games for free time with your students.
Kids will love the fun and engaging games on this site. Don't forget to share the site with parents for extra practice at home! Download the strips below to send home the web address with your students.
Our friend Heather over at Peacocks and Penguins in the classroom is hosting a giveaway for reaching 200 followers. To support her, we have donated any item from our store. Be sure to stop by her blog, by clicking the button below, and enter in the giveaway!
